Digital Implant Planning & Surgical Guide Design, with coDiagnostiX

This one day course will cover the fundamentals of digital implant planning. You will gain the knowledge and skills to navigate coDiagnostiX software when case planning, and have  the opportunity to practice the skills of surgical guide design and their use. With a maximum of 10 delegates, you are guaranteed a productive learning experience.

You will learn how applying these techniques to your implant cases will help you achieve predictable outcomes, even with complex cases, through prosthetically driven planning and the design of highly precise surgical guides.

You will be taken through the steps of establishing a repeatable, digital planning pathway for all your cases, which can bring you an increased confidence in your provision of implant treatment to your patients.

The course will cover:

  • The fundamentals of digital implant planning.
  • The clinical and medicolegal benefits of digitally planning your cases and using guided surgery.
  • The essentials of coDiagnostiX planning software.
  • A logical process to digitally plan an implant case.
  • How to produce a successful surgical guide.
  • How surgical guides are manufactured through 3D printing.
  • Hands-on use of surgical guides on models.

During this course the delegate has had the opportunity to learn:

  • The fundamentals of digital implant planning.
  • The clinical and medicolegal benefits of digitally planning your cases and using guided surgery.
  • The essentials of coDiagnostiX planning software.
  • A logical process to digitally plan an implant case.
  • How to produce a useable surgical guide.
  • How surgical guides are manufactured through 3D printing.
  • The practical use of surgical guides.

This is a small group workshop, with a maximum of 10 delegates, to put you in the position to be able to plan your own cases on your return to practice.

Following an introduction to the fundamentals of digital implant planning and guided surgery, through hands-on training you will learn how to navigate the software and design your own surgical guide. This will be followed by a practical session utilising a guided surgery kit on a model.

James Hamill

James Hamill is a dental implant dentist and the CEO of Quoris 3D, the digital implant planning and guided surgery experts.

With 20 years of experience in dental implants, and extensive knowledge of guided surgery, he is one of the leading clinicians in this field in the UK & Ireland. His breadth of experience in guided surgery, from simple cases to IFAL cases, combined with his highly practical, easy teaching style, will give you the confidence to get back to practice and put your new skills to use.

James graduated from Dundee in 2001, and in 2003 started his implant career. He is a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, and has achieved the Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He is an ITI Fellow with a passion for mentoring and education.

James offers a full range of implant solutions, and still has a small freelance practice limited to implant surgery and one to one mentoring. He has been pioneering the use of guided surgery in full arch immediate rehabilitation in the UK and Ireland and has now taught over 140 implant surgeons the techniques involved.

As CEO of Quintess Denta and Quoris 3D, he is a forward thinking, relaxed and honest speaker who openly shares his experience of practice ownership and background commercial knowledge.
