The Oral Surgery Course for General Practitioners OCTOBER 2026
NEW CURRICULUM
A comprehensive oral surgery course designed to give you the practical skills, confidence and competence to tackle a wide range of surgical procedures in general dentistry.
Suitable for all levels of experience, you’ll work with pigs’ heads, models and phantom heads to develop your skills in teeth and root removal, flap design, suturing, sectioning, bone removal, luxating, elevating, forceps techniques and wisdom teeth.
The course consists of 24 hours of learning in total:
• 5 hours of online pre-course material
• 14 hours of 100% hands-on training over 2 days
• 5 hours of online post-course material
The two hands-on days are entirely practical and will qualify for 14 hours of CPD.
The course is ideal for dentists looking to build confidence and competence in oral surgery as part of their general dentistry, those wanting to develop the surgical skills required to provide dental implants, or dentists considering progressing towards becoming a DWPSI.
This short course can also act as a gateway to the Oral Surgery Diploma, providing a foundation for those who wish to continue developing their oral surgery skills through further structured education.
For those interested in developing their implant knowledge alongside their oral surgery training, an additional online ‘Beginning in Implants’ module is available for a small additional fee.
